Ill bet there were over a thousand people on Saturday, June 11 attending the Farmers’ Day Parade in the little village of Busby.

Above, chauffeur Roland Seguin and his front seat passenger, Tony Stitsen.

Commendably into the spirit of the event, Tony illustrates here (and Dave Chatters will back me on this) why politicians NEVER wear unusual hats. And below, just who ARE those glamorous young women in the rumble seat who Tony and Roland are squiring around town? (Actually, when you see how tight the back seat is you’ll understand Dave Chatters’ little joke that there was no such thing as teen pregnancy in a Model A.)

Here below is the float as we roll towards downtown Busby. Note the number and gender balance of babies supporting the Wildrose – Finn Byfield with dad Silas and mother Andria, and Abriel Hughes with papa Travis.

This final picture at least hints at the magnitude of the crowds, pressing in for candies and party literature. Oddly, the candy ran out and we still have all the brochures.

Overall, it was great to meet so many wonderful folks and enjoy the spirit of Farmers Day in Busby.  What a great way to start up our series of parade visits across the Barrhead Morinvile Westlock Riding.  If you have an event in your area, we would love to show up.  Let us know when your community is holding its parade and we will make every attempt to attend.
